The village of Fiuggi The village of Fiuggi

The village of FiuggiA stroll in a medieval setting

Thermal baths and art, great cuisine and boundless landscapes: welcome to Fiuggi! Take a peek at our personal travel journal to discover the things to see in Fiuggi, a well preserved medieval village characterised by an enchanting ancient atmosphere with a touch of modernity.

The old village

A stroll through the historic centre of Fiuggi means immersing yourself in a medieval atmosphere through narrow and steep alleys, ancient houses, churches, arches, squares and stone stairways. At certain hours of the day you can only hear the sound of your own footsteps. In some parts of the old village you can still admire some ancient buildings. Remains of the towers of the defensive walls can still be seen in some places.

One of the most picturesque corners of Fiuggi is the “alley of the kisses”. You only need to take a look at it to understand its name: it is so narrow that anyone so brave to try to cross it at the same time as another person will almost be forced to kiss them. Our advice is to check first if you like any of the passers-by… some of the best love stories started like this!

Fonte Anticolana

A park with many green areas where you can walk between gardens and tree-lined avenues. You can see cedars, sequoias and flowers and there are also tennis courts, bowling courts, miniature golf tracks, ping-pong tables and an area reserved for children. In addition, at the Fonte Anticolana you can receive medical advice before being admitted to the drinking water therapy.

As soon as you cross the iconic art nouveau portal, you will be immersed in the atmosphere of the Belle Époque. The other buildings instead were designed in the 1960s by architect Moretti, who also designed the Watergate Complex in Washington. This area is traditionally reserved for the therapy with hundreds of springs which can accommodate up to 25,000 people at the same time. Here you can receive medical examinations by a urologist and ultrasound examinations, but also relax in the many green and relaxation areas.
